Our first attempt to Decatur for Christmas!

On Tuesday the 23rd of December, we left our house to pick up Ellie from Petsmart grooming salon and found out that it would take us 45 minutes to get there. The freezing rain was falling from the sky, which immediately turned the streets into a skating rink! We were going no more than 2 mps and everyone was sliding off the road! We made it to I-69 and went from Exit 15-19 in 2 hours. We decided that today was not meant to go to Decatur so we had to go back home! We were so bummed out that we were going to miss family time with the Colliers. We found out that they even closed the part of I69 that we were on after stopping at McDonalds for a break. Hopefully tomorrow morning will be better!

Colts vs. Lions Game

This past weekend, for Nancy's birthday (Chris's Mom), we went to the Colts game! We had great seats- 19 rows up from the end zone! This was a great view and we got to see so many things up close.

Thanksgiving

We had a wonderful time over Thanksgiving. For the day, we went to my parent's house for a wonderfully grilled turkey. We found a new game to play together...Sequence! Then we headed up to Decatur for the rest of the weekend and visited with both sides of the family. Chris and his dad went to a shooting range in Ft. Wayne. I was planning on trying it out, but wasn't quite sure about it so I just watched the first time. I think I can do it next time! What a new experience!

One part of the living room I forgot to mention was that we bought a Wii! We love playing it and as you can see below...this is our favorite game! You guessed it...Rock Band!

Living Room Final Pictures

Here are the final touches to the living room. We bought a new sectional couch and coffee table and moved the TV into this room. We are so much more cozy with the new carpet and couch. Our Christmas tree fits perfectly in the open space. We hope to put a table there someday, however. Chris worked so hard on this room and it looks amazing.

The Snell girls got together over a weekend in November for our first annual girls weekend in Chicago! Those attending were my mom, Jan, Auntie Anne, my cousin Lindsay, and my new cousin Leif! We stayed at Lindsay's place in Lakeview, which is minutes from Michigan Ave. The area was really nice and we ate at a lot of great places. On Friday, we stayed in and talked along with a few glasses wine (that is how we do it in our family!) Then on Saturday we rode the bus (we were glad when the bus ride was over) to Michigan Ave. and shopped along the Magnificent Mile. We headed back to Lindsays and got ready for dinner at a wonderful Mexican place. Then we headed off a dueling piano bar in Lincoln Park, which was such a fun time. Lindsay even got to get on stage for her birthday! We will be making this a semi annal event. Hopefully we can have more the of family join us next time!

Living Room Makeover!

Over Fall Break last week, Chris and his friend Ben put up this gorgeous chair rail in our living/dining room last week. We painted the chair rail (ok Chris spent about 18 hours doing two coats!), walls, and baseboards. We will hopefully make this into our new TV room to accomodate more people and have a more cozy feeling. We are having new carpet put in next week and a new sectional couch delivered next week too!!

Stay tuned for the complete look next week!

Ellie

Here are a few random pictures of Ellie! The Colts jersey is from her Auntie Sara for her 1st birthday on September 15! There are also pictures of her favorite place by the tree in the backyard. We love our dog and treat her as part of our new family!

Camping at Shades State Park

In September, our friends got together and camped at Shades State Park. This is one of the best state parks in Indiana that I have been to. The trails are gorgeos and have rugged terrain on Sugar Creek. Camping is one of our favorite activities. We wish we could go more, but life is always so busy!

We celebrated Chris's Grandparents 60th anniversary in September!!! They are such wonderful people and set a great example of a marriage! Congratulations and we love you!

Chad and Leif's Wedding Reception

Back in September, we had a wonderful time in Ann Arbor, MI celebrating my cousin Chad and Leif's marriage! My Auntie Anne and Uncle John hosted the party at their house. Here are a few pics from the evening! Congrats Chad and Leif!

More Wedding Pics!

There are too many to share!

We're Married

Chris and I got married on July 11th this summer. The day was absolutely amazing! We had the wedding at White River Gardents inside a butterfly conservatory! We are so thankful for all of the family and friends that were there to support us.
